Out of an abundance of caution, Milan Special School District will be closed on Thursday, February 2.
With the pending weather forecast and the worsening back road conditions, Milan Specail School District will be closed on Wednesday, February 1. We plan to see everyone on Thursday.
Due to forecasted inclement weather conditions and for the safety of our students and staff, the Milan Special School District will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023. Plans for Wednesday will be announced later Tuesday afternoon.
❤❤VALENTINE'S DAY DELIVERY INFORMATION❤❤
This message is to inform you of Milan Middle School’s Valentine's Day Delivery information. We will only accept deliveries from businesses (no individuals). These businesses must follow the following guidelines. We will allow businesses to start bringing in deliveries at 2:00. They will be allowed to set up in the cafeteria. Somewhere between 2:30 and 2:40 students will be announced over the intercom to go get the items. The time will depend on the number of names needing to be announced. Businesses must have a list of the names the school needs to announce to give the office upon arrival. Valentine's items (balloons, stuffed animals, flowers, etc.) will not be allowed in the building/classrooms during the school day. Items not picked up by students by 3:00 will be returned to the business. MMS is not responsible for items not picked up by the student or taken back by the business. Also, please be aware that items made of glass or balloons will not be allowed on school buses. If you have any questions, please call 686-7232. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Milan Middle School's Valentine's Day Dance will be Saturday, February 11th, 5:00 to 7:30 pm. $10 tickets will be sold in Cafeteria during lunch. Free cookies, brownies, suckers and more! Bring extra $ for pizza, ice cream slushies.
🤩📸SPRING PICTURE DAY-FEBRUARY 10TH.📸🤩
Spring picture day will be Friday, February 10th. This will be for students that were absent on picture day or are new to the school, or those that would like additional photos, as well as Volleyball, Boys Soccer, Baseball, Golf, Band, and 5th and 6th Grade Boys Basketball. Parents who want to purchase picture packages will have to prepay. Order forms and money will be given to the photographer the day of. If you have multiple children at the school, please use a separate order form and separate the payments for each child.
Reminder: Monday, January 16th is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and school will be closed.
As a reminder, Milan Special School District will have only a half day of school on Friday, December 16 before Christmas Break. Buses will run as usual. MES: 10:45 AM MMS: 10:55AM MHS: 11:00 AM
Milan Special School District Health Clinic is open to all MSSD school-aged students, all MSSD staff and immediate family members for sick visits, sports physicals, well child exams and acute medical care. Call 731-686-3201 to schedule an appointment. The clinic is located at MES.
Has your child been to the doctor recently? Please turn in all doctor notes to your child's school by Thursday, December 15th.
Due to increasing student and staff sickness across the district, Milan Special School District will be closed on Tuesday, November 22,2022. We wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, November 28.
We will celebrate Red Ribbon Week October 23 - 29th. Each day, the students will do an activity to Celebrate Life, Live Drug Free! Monday-Sign a banner in the cafeteria during lunch. Tuesday-Make a paperchain against drugs. The students will write down one thing they want to do instead of drugs. Wednesday-Color a key for your future during lunch. Thursday-Wear Red/ SGA sponsored skating party at the skating rink 6-8 pm. Students can buy tickets for $5 during lunch. This event is only open to Milan Middle School students. Friday-Decorate the Door Against Drugs- Homeroom contest for the best door. 1st place: pizza party and teacher gets a $50 Walmart card. 2nd place: $25 gift card and 3rd place: $15 gift card.
