Student Government Assocation » SGA


The Student Government Association (SGA) gives students the chance to be part of a democratic government. It works toward the development and promotion of school spirit, student morals, school pride, and positive family, student, and community relations.
SGA is open to all Milan Middle School Students.  Students who are interested in participating fill out applications in August.  Students are chosen based on academic standing, behavioral integrity, and their willingness to bring about positive change in the school community.
SGA Officers are chosen from the students who apply.  The President of the SGA is a member of the eighth grade. The Vice-President and Secretary may be a seventh or eighth grader.  Officer meetings are held every other Monday during lunch.
SGA meets every other Tuesday morning from 7:15 to 7:45.  Students must have adequate transportation for meetings. Students may miss up to 2 regularly scheduled meetings, but if a member misses more than the allowed absences, he or she may be dismissed from the organization.
